Wyolene Woodall Hughey, age 86, of Calhoun, passed away Monday July 1st in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Wyolene was born September 25, 1926 in Cherokee County, daughter of the late Chester Lee Woodall and Leah Gramling Woodall. She had lived in Calhoun most of her life and was a member of her beloved Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hughey in October 1990 and her son, Steve Hughey in August 1998.
Survivors include her son, Gary Hughey of Calhoun, daughter, Jacqueline Williams and her husband Daniel of Perry, Georgia, her favorite daughter in law, Patsy Hughey of Calhoun, two brothers, Herbert Woodall of Resaca and Kenneth Woodall and his wife Catherine of Sonoraville, one sister, Dorothy Pasley and her husband B.G. “Bud” of Calhoun, five grandchildren, Stacey Hughey, Matthew Hughey and his wife Helen, Justin Hughey and his wife Brittany, Lee Murphy, and Alex Murphy, three great grandchildren, Payton Hughey, Drake Hughey, and Ella Reese Hughey. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 3rd at 11am, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Burgner officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with grandsons and her nephew, James Woodall serving as pallbearers. Music will be arranged by Rachel Chadwick Harris and Jan Galmon.
The family will receive friends this afternoon (Tuesday July 2nd) after 5pm.
