Wynette Smith King

Wynette Smith King, age 88 of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 in Gordon Health Care. Wynette was born on April 1, 1929 in Gordon County to the late Dennis Smith and Ida Parm Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward King; and four brothers, Robert Smith, Billy Smith, Jimmy Smith, and Clifford Smith. Wynette was a member of Hall Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Donna King; five sisters, Ebbie Jane DeFoor of Resaca, Linda Potts and her husband Pat of Sugar Valley, Patsy Colleps of Resaca, Mary Dell Water of Calhoun, and Neatha McClain and her husband Steve of Dalton; two granddaughters, Hanna Pate and Heather Pate; and great-grandchild, Just Lighter Pate. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday March 13th at 2pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Timms officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Joey Potts, Ricky E. Smith, Matt McClain, Scott Brown, Daniel Gober, and Marty Potts.
