Wyama Burdette

Wyama Massengill Burdette, age 87 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Calhoun Health Care. Wyama was born on April 8, 1924 in Lafayette, GA. Daughter of the late Henry Thomas Massengill and Mary Christain Massengill. Wyama has been a resident of Gordon County over 45 years and she was a member of the Clifton United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Larry T. Burdette, and brother, Claude Massengill. Survivors include; Three daughters; Pricilla J. Curtis of Calhoun, Hilda K. Kimsey of Mansfield, GA, Brenda S. Anderson and her husband James of Calhoun. Two sisters; Maude Talley of Calhoun, and Leola Birchfield of Dalton. Eight grandchildren, Eleven great-grandchildren, One great-great-grandchild, and nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00p.m. on Thursday, December 29th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant U.M.C. Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Nic Kimsey, David Kimsey, Jimmy Anderson, John Anderson, and Wesley Leatherwood. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the funeral hour at 3:00 on Thursday, December 29 at the funeral home.
