Winnie Moss Cantrell, age 94, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in Gordon Health Care.
Winnie was born April 7, 1916 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Robert Knox Moss and Elizabeth Ellis Moss. Winnie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a charter member since 1958 of Sonora Chapter 484 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Besides her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Lee Cantrell.Two sisters; Mildred Kirby and Mozelle Fite; brothers; R.K. Moss, Jr., Ellis Moss, Charlie Moss and Robert "Bob" Moss.
Survivors include; a son, Bobby Cantrell of Calhoun; two sisters; Jettie Gilbert of Marietta and Lennie Powell of Maryville, Tennessee; four grandchildren; Allison Sollicito and her husband Thomas, Justin Cantrell, Genia Kirby and her husband Chuck and Lori Woodall; six great-grandchildren; Avery Hopper, Bryson Hopper, Olyvia Hopper, Callie Walraven, Chase Kirby, and Alex Kirby; three step-great-grandchildren; Austin Sollicito, Matthew Sollicito and Madison Sollicito.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00p.m. from the chapel of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Reverends Barry Brock and Lamar Bearden officiating. Pallbearers include; Don Gilbert, Fred Gilbert, Anthony Moss, Garry Moss, Tim Kirby and Eddie Woodall. Honorary Pallbearers include; members of the Eastern Star.
Interment will follow in Campbell Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
