Windell Lee Floyd, age 81 of Plainville, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his residence.
Windell was born on November 26, 1936 in Whitfield County, GA to the late David Floyd and Marie Hawkins Floyd. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara Magdalene “Maggie” Floyd; and son, Shane Floyd. Windell was a member of Unity Baptist Church, and prior to retirement was employed by Trend Mills.
Windell is survived by his daughter, Michele Floyd of Great Mills, MD; brother, Spencer Floyd of Rome; three sisters, Doris Culberson of Calhoun, Delores Hunt of Rome, and Debbie Parker of Rome; three grandchildren, Jacin Gray, Amanda Bentil, and Megan Gray; five great-grandchildren, Savannah Phelps, Elijah Bentil, Norah Bentil, Davis Gray, and Sawyer Gray; and special friends Renford and Sara Wright of Shannon.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, March 19th at 11AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Shane Parrott officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
