Wilma Joyce Rogers

Wilma Joyce Rogers, age 80 of Dalton, passed away on May 2, 2012 in Quinton Memorial Health and Rehabilitation. Wilma was born on June 22, 1931 in Henagar, AL. Daughter of the late Herman Alexander Powell and Velvie Jewell Thomas Powell Hudgens. Wilma attended the 11th Avenue Baptist Church of Dalton and prior to retirement was employed by Aladdin Mills of Dalton. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by four children, one brother, one sister and one grandson, Tim Conner. Survivors include; One daughter, Diana Simmons and her husband Elmer of Dalton. One brother, Crawford Earl Powell of Tunnel Hill. Three sisters; June Rogers and her husband Glenn of Gordon County, Sarah Ruth “Dot” Winkler of Chatsworth, and Sue Powell of Dalton. Four grandsons, several great and great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2p.m. on Saturday, May 5th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Ashley Sexton will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Colonial Hills Memorial Park in Dalton at 4p.m. Nephews and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2p.m. on Saturday, May 5th at the funeral home.
