Willie Faye Brooks, age 78 of Jasper, passed away on Sunday morning, March 27, 2016 at Gordon Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Willie was born on March 31, 1937 in Pickens County, GA to the late Luke Stone and Nellie Pass Stone. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Pickens County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Brooks; a daughter, Barbara Young; six brothers, Terry, Lester, Elmer, Gene, Verlon, and Marvin Stone; and sister, Clara Mae Rogers.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Fleming and her husband Stan of Chatsworth; son, Roy Young and his wife Crystal of Ranger; three grandsons, Calvin Ray and his wife Angie of Chatsworth, Van Randall Fleming and his wife Robin of Chatsworth, and Anthony Fleming and his wife Amanda of Calhoun; three granddaughters, Leeann Young of Ranger, Candy Roden of Adairsville, and Ashley Hall; three great-grandsons, Aidan, Brayden and Gavin Fleming of Calhoun; three great-granddaughters, Alaina Ray of Rome, Emily Greeson of Chatsworth, and Roxanne Gonzalez of Adairsville; two brothers, Troy Dean Stone and Delmer Stone both of Ranger; and a sister, Gladys Sue Stone of Ranger.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 29th at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Hubert Pack officiating. Sarah Burnett, Dorothy Hightower, Joseph Hightower, and Virginia Rupledge will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Ludville, GA with Rocky Stone, Jeffrey Stone, Billy Joe Rogers, Elmer Autrell Rogers, Donnie Fountain and Jason Cronon serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
