William Virgil "Bill" Worley

William Virgil “Bill” Worley, age 82 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at his residence.

Bill was born on August 19, 1939 in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Conley Hudson Worley and Estelle Carden Worley. In addition to his parents Bill was also preceded in death by: his wife, Kathryn Marie Walls Worley; three brothers, Louie Worley, CH Worley and Richard Worley; and one sister, Linda Worley Pasley. Bill was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, GA where he was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge of Calhoun 1883 and the Oothcalooga Masonic Lodge 154 F&AM. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement Bill worked as a business owner. He enjoyed flying and golf.

Bill is survived by: two sons, Matthew Worley and his wife Tammy and Marc Worley and his wife Lisa; six grandchildren, Chris, Josh, Madison, Connor, Ashley and Natalie Worley; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Briggs Worley; one brother, Johnny Worley; one sister, Barbara Burkhart; and a special friend, Laverne Gravitt.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Shane Parrott officiating. Entombment will follow in Fain Cemetery with military honors afforded by the American Legion.

Pallbearers serving are: Chris Worley, Josh Worley, Connor Worley, Brian Worley, Eric Worley, Jason Reed and Seth Reed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
