William Floyd "Chuck" Stamey

Mr. William Floyd “Chuck” Stamey, age 90 of Smyrna and formerly of Gordon County died Sunday, December 14. Chuck was born in Gordon County, son of the late Bryan and Grace Pass Stamey. Also, he was preceded in death by his son, William “Joe” Stamey; first wife Elaine Morrow Stamey; a sister, Hazel Stamey and a brother Ray Stamey. He was a veteran of World War II, US Army, retired from Bellsouth, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Chuck is survived by his wife Cleo Singleton Stamey of Smyrna; five sisters, Freeda Fowler, Louise Patterson, Maxine Hudson, Marie Thomas and her husband Jimmy, Lynda King and her husband Sam all of Calhoun; three brothers, Bob Stamey and his wife Charlsie of Ranger, John Stamey and his wife, Faye of Marietta, and Larry Stamey and his wife, Sue of Sugar Valley; sister-in-law, Lena Mae Stamey; and one granddaughter, Karen. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16 at the Castellaw Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby More officiating; burial was in Georgia Memorial Park with full military honors.
