William Hamilton All, III (“Bill”) passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving behind a
legacy of love, service, and accomplishment.
Bill was born in Charlotte, NC, and grew up in Nashville and Memphis, TN. After graduating from high
school, he attended Georgia Tech on a Navy ROTC scholarship, where he served as president of the
Georgia Tech Student YMCA. While at Georgia Tech, he had the opportunity to travel to Paris for the
International YMCA Centennial, an experience that shaped his life and led him to meet the love of his
life, Mary Eleanor Swain (Eleanor).
Bill graduated from Georgia Tech in 1956 and served as a Navy aviator, flying various aircraft such as the
P-3 Orion, T-34, T-6, S-2, and P-2V, with postings that included Pensacola, FL; Hutchinson, KS; Coronado,
CA; Barbers Point, HI; and Kodiak Island, AK. He and Eleanor also started their family during this time,
welcoming their son, William Hamilton All, IV (Hamp), and daughter, Ellen All McNeel.
After completing his active-duty service, the family moved back to Marietta, GA, and Bill earned an MBA
from Emory University while continuing to fly with the Naval Reserve. He embarked on a successful
business career, including roles as President of the Industrial Marking Systems Division of Dymo
Industries and founder of Georgia Industrial Marking Systems, LLC. He also spent a decade with Panduit
Corporation, where he developed innovative wiring identification products and earned two patents.
Bill's entrepreneurial spirit extended into real estate, where he eventually became a respected appraiser
and instructor. He formed All Real Estate Services in 2009 with his daughter Ellen, helping banks manage
foreclosed properties during the financial crisis. Later, he joined Metro West Appraisal Company,
allowing him to work on his own terms until his retirement in 2021 at the age of 87.
Bill was an active member of his beloved St. James Episcopal Church for 60+ years where he regularly
acted as an usher until his death. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and The Order of
Daedalians, as well as the Rotary Club of Marietta for many years.
An avid sailor, Bill spent 49 years with the Atlanta Yacht Club, serving in various roles, including
Commodore, and he participated in Hurricane Island Outward Bound school and the National Power
Boat organization. Bill loved to travel with Eleanor and his family and friends. He was quick to play and
sing along to Jimmy Buffett and always looked dapper in his favorite Hawaiian shirts. Bill also made a
stellar pancake and had the kind of laugh that filled a room and made everything lighter.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Eleanor Swain All. He is survived by two children,
William (“Hamp”) All of Thompson Falls, MT, and Ellen All McNeel (Jim) of Marietta, GA. He was a proud
grandfather (also known as “Pop”) to Jennifer Deal (Ryan), Mary Jane Lizzio (Sal), Maile Allzer (Kevin),
Christine England (Josh), and Ryland Weber (Kit), as well as a doting great-grandfather to Lucca and Ellis
Lizzio and Maggie and Macy England.
Bill’s life was defined by his dedication to family, many professional accomplishments, deep sense of
humor, and adventurous spirit.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1 PM at St. James Episcopal
