William "Grady" Pitts

William “Grady” Pitts, age 78 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at his residence.

Grady was born on October 19, 1944 in Chatsworth, GA, son of the late John William Pitts and Winnie Lee Dover Pitts. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by: three brothers, Lewis Pitts, Clifford Pitts and Jimmy Pitts; and two sisters, Betty Tillerson and Lorene Castleberry. Grady was a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement he worked as a courier for MEAG for over 20 years.

Grady is survived by: one son, Anthony Wayne “Tony” Pitts and his wife Kristin of Collins, GA; two brothers, Walter Pitts and his wife Anne and Ray Pitts and his wife Connie; sister-in-law, Betty Pitts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff of Georgia Care at Home, especially Trudy, Danita, CoCo and Lanna.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 10 AM until 12 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at 2:30 PM with Rev. Joe B. Dover officiating and Navy Honors afforded by the Naval Air Station in Marietta.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Grady be made to the charity of your choice.
