Monday, July 21, 2008 Mr. William Ray “Bill” Franklin, age 74, of Plainville died Monday July 21st at Redmond Regional Hospital. Bill, a veteran of the Korean Conflict served in both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He was the son of the late Alex Sayre and Rasalee Franklin. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Carter Franklin and brother Henry Franklin. Survivors include his son, Alex W.T. Franklin of Plainville, daughter, Gina Jones of Cumming, GA, and two grandchildren, Austin Miles Jones and Dakota Grace Jones. Additional survivors include two brothers, Alex W. Franklin of Foley, AL and James A. Franklin of Plainville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 23rd at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Webster officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery with Full Military Rites. Pallbearers serving include T.J. Jones, James Franklin, Jr., Clyde Young, Robert Hartley, John Franklin Lewis, C.L. Rutledge, Lamar Whittenberg, Larry Grider, Ellis Woods, Jack Thornbrough, Alfred Harris and Gerald Fults. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8pm.
