William Farist

Wednesday, February 09, 2011 William (Bill) F. Farist, Sr., age 66, of the Fairmount Community. Died Tuesday afternoon February 8th in the Kindred Specialty Hospital in Chattanooga. Bill was born May 26, 1944 in Gilmer County. Son of the late Frank and Celestia Troglin Farris. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed by Bowater in the tree nursery division prior to his retirement. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Farris. Survivors include his wife, Jerry Sue Farist of Fairmount. Two sons; Michael Farist and his wife Angie of Fairmount and Bill Farist and his wife Jane of Oakman. One daughter, Lisa Baldwin and her husband Lee of Calhoun. One brother, Ronnie Farris of Calhoun. Two sisters; Judy Lowe and her husband Buddy of Oakman and Mary Barton and her husband Billy of Resaca. A loving Paw Paw to; Ethan, Ryan, Catherine, Jessica, Allie, Steven, Misty, and Nicole. As well as a great grand-daughter, Breeallie. Funeral services will be conducted Friday February 11th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Pastor Steve Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4 until 8pm.
