William Burnett

Sunday, July 15, 2007 Mr. William “Bill” Burnett, age 66 of Calhoun died at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14th. Bill was born on December 28, 1940 in Gordon County, Son of the late George “Bud” Burnett and Fannie Chapman Burnett. Also , he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Andrew, Bobby, and Terry Burnett. He had lived most of his life in the Plainville and Scottsville Communities and was a Baptist. Bill is survived by one son, Billy J. Burnett of Rome, Two daughters; Beverly Burk and her husband James of Dalton, Lori Sue Burnett of Rome, one sister; Jo Highfield and her husband Melvin of Scottsville, and two special nieces; Sandi Flemister of Plainville and Wanda Shirley of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday July 16th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Elvalena York will have charge of the music , and pallbearers are Melvin Jackson, Bill Langley, Rick Walker, Paul Wilkie, Billy Flemister and Barry Shurley, Honorary pallbearers are Sharon McEnbyre, John Jackson, and Wayne Jackson and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 A.M. Monday. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the Thomas Funeral Home.
