William E. "Eddie" Bohannon

Mr. William E. “Eddie” Bohannon, age 74 of the Resaca Community, passed away at Gordon Hospital Friday evening surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Bohannon was born January 21, 1940 in Gordon County to the late Elzo and Gladys Marie Bohannon. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Moss Memorial Baptist Church. Eddie was a member of the Calhoun Elks Lodge, BPOE #1883. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers; J.W., Jessie, and Duane Bohannon; two sisters, Elizabeth Bowers and Mozelle Bohannon. Survivors include his wife Joann Bohannon of 53 years; two daughters, Kim Gowens and Jan Slaton and her husband Mike; four brothers, Fred Goble, Dan, Jerry, and Terry Bohannon; one sister Charlotte Towe; two grandchildren, Ashley Howell and her husband Blake and Anne Marie Slaton; one great grandchild Emerie Howell. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday January 19, 2015 at 11 AM from Moss Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Reggie Nation officiating. Charles and Tammy Freeman will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Parham Hammontree conducting graveside services. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday January 18, 2015 from 2 to 5 PM. Pallbearers serving include: David Fowler, Tony Brown, Al Densmore, Raymond Brown, Leroy Gravitt, and Lamar Hicks.
