Sunday, July 27, 2008 Mr. William M. “Bill” Potts, age 46 of Calhoun died Sunday morning July 27, 2008 at his residence. Bill was born in Anniston, Alabama, October 14, 1961, a son of Beatrice Plummer Woodruff and the late Thomas Sims Potts. He was an alumnus of the Donoho School, Darlington School, Oak Hill Academy, and Brevard College. Bill is descended from the Farish Carter family of the Carter’s Quarter Communities and was a former resident of Murray County and the Carter’s Lake areas. He was an active member of Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church of Calhoun. Bill is survived by his mother and stepfather, Beatrice P. Woodruff and Gerald G. Woodruff, M.D. of Anniston, Alabama; one brother, Thomas S. Potts, Jr. of Anniston, a sister, Marian Potts Foster of Savannah; two nieces, Hellen Willett and Landon Foster both of Savannah; a nephew, James Potts; step-brothers and sisters, Gerald Woodruff III, Harold Bowen Woodruff, Rhett Woodruff Warner, David Campbell Woodruff, and Margaret Woodruff Sealy. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 31 at the Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church with Father Louis Tonsmeier officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 224 Trammell Street, Calhoun, GA. in Bill’s honor. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Mr. William M. “Bill” Potts of Calhoun.
