Monday, March 15, 2010 Mr. Will Dee Long age 74 of 104 Millers Lane, Calhoun, died suddenly Monday morning at the residence. Will was born in Murray County, Ga. on Jan. 10, 1936 son of the late Hughes Franklin and Bessie Singleton Long but had spent the greater part of his life in Gordon County. He was a retired painter a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, the American Legion and the V.F.W. He served his country in the National Guard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Junior and Martin Long. Survivors include a daughter Dee Dee Long of Calhoun, two grandchildren: Jackson and Shelbie Coker of Calhoun, a brother; Hubert Long of Resaca, a sister; Kathryn Seritt of Sugar Valley Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday March 17th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.. Pallbearers serving include Jimmy Gray, Randy Earl, Keith Richardson, Joe Don Griffith, Johnny Brown and Frank Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Ruddell Jimmy Brown, Jackie Sktoker, Stacy Hall, Kathy Brown, Tammy Pasley and Members of the American Legion and V.F.W. and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:45 P.M.
