Wilena Hackney Hudgens

Wilena Hackney Hudgens, age 91 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in Gordon Health Care. Wilena was born on August 16, 1923 in Whitfield County. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Arthur Hackney and Millie Annie Barnard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Columbus Hudgens; and infant twin daughters. She is survived by her son, Steve Hudgens and his wife Janice of Calhoun; daughter, Pat Hudgens Russell of Nashville, TN; four sisters, Frances Hackney, Sue Hackney, Nora Newton, and Eunice Robinson all of Dalton; two grandchildren, Shannen Russell, and Geoff Russell; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver Russell, and Madeline Russell. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, December 27th at 4 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Clinton Green officiating. Gina Faith Daniel will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Donnie Newton, Ronnie Newton, Kenny Robinson, Sammy Robinson, Shawn Chastain, and Cory Stephens.
