Webb Ralston,

Mr. Webb Ralston, Jr., age 66 of Ranger, passed away Friday afternoon, September 30th, at Gordon Hospital. Webb was born June 2, 1945 in Gordon County. Son of the late Rev. N.W. Ralston and Jessie Williams Ralston. Webb served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his service, Webb was employed by Shaw Industries in their maintenance department and later retired from the company. He attended church at the Mt. Carmel Church of Jesus Christ. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Lois Coggins; three brother-in-laws, James Coggins, J.C. McGhee, and Ted Cornwell. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Smith Ralston of Ranger. Two sons, Jonathan Keith Ralston and his wife Terri of Ranger, and Kenneth M. Moss and his wife Stacey of Chatsworth; one daughter, Susan Lynn Moss of Chatsworth; four sisters, Martha Parker and her husband Eugene, Ella Cox and her husband Doyle, Mary McGhee, and Brenda Cornwell all of Ranger; seven grandchildren, Jessica Gilbert, Joseph Martin, Brandie Guess, Zachery Guess, Gage Millican, Kalia Moss, and Cassie Moss; one great grandchild, Aden Gilbert. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. J.B. Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Church cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, October 1st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers serving include Ricky Coggins, Danny Parker, Garson Cornwell, Scottie Cornwell, Justus McGhee, and Shane McGhee. Honorary pallbearers include Tim Parker, Barry Parker, and Jerome McGhee.
