W. J. Woodard, JR

W.J. “Woody” Woodard, JR age 67 of Rydal, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023   

Woody was born on June 11, 1956 in Dodge County, GA, son of the late W.J. Woodard, SR and Lula Mae Woodard Barlow. He was a retired veteran of the United States Navy with over 20 years of service.

Woody is survived by: his wife, Joni Smith Woodard; three children, Amber (Elena) Woodard, Emily (Bryan) Myers, and Jacob (Kristena) Woodard; three grandchildren, Maverick Madonna, Easton Woodard, and Quinn Woodard; one sister, Nancy (Floyd) Selph; two brothers-in-law, Byron (Jayne) Smith and Shawn (Rhonda) Smith; six nieces and nephews, Jennifer Wyatt, Erica Chapman, Ashley Selph, Justin Smith, Landon Smith, and Amanda Yeater; and many great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

A celebration of the life of Woody will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 12 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home and visitation will begin an hour prior to the services.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 3 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.
