Vivian Sue Hightower Jackson, age 70 of the Russell Hill Community of Gordon County died Sunday September 4 at her residence.
Vivian was born in Gordon County, March 13, 1946, a daughter of the late Hoyt and Parlee Gravely Hightower. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy DeFoor; a sister, Glenese Smith; and a brother, Norman Hightower.
Vivian was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and a member of the Salacoa Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sugar Valley Community Club and the Sugar Valley School Reunion Group.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Melvin Jackson; two step-daughters, Laura Hufstetler, and Sandra Price; one sister, Argle West; two grandchildren, Hoyt DeFoor and Chelsea Baldwin; a great grandson, Noah Baldwin.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 7, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Sammy Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Hoyt DeFoor, Keith West, Sean Kirby, Gene Grisham, Billy Silvers, Lynn Eakin, Derek Baldwin and Christopher Ray.
