Virginia Elizabeth McGuire Shaw, age 92 of Adairsville, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Stonehenge Assisted Living in Blairsville, GA.
Virginia was born on November 30, 1919 in Bartow County. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta Crozier McGuire. Virginia joined the First Christian Church of Adairsville in her early teen years, and also attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years. She had spent many years in Rome and later moved to Gordon County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of thirty eight years, Willard D. Shaw; four brothers, Joseph, William, Alvin and Frank Shaw; and three sisters, Ella, Mary and Melba.
Survivors include: one daughter, Libby Keeling and her husband Larry of Sumter, SC; two sons, Terry Shaw and his wife Joan of Blairsville, GA and Dennis Shaw and his wife Connie of Meridian, MS; six grandchildren, Michael Pippin, Mark Shaw, David Shaw, Leigh Ann Pippin, Dana Shaw, Amanda Shaw Hasslebech; 10 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 26th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Joe Hardy, Bruce King, John Worley, Joey Brown, Lanny Shaw, Russell Holbert, and Rodney Mathis.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday.
