Virginia Harris

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 Mrs. Virginia Harris, age 82, of Calhoun. Died Tuesday morning September 23rd in Starcrest of Cartersville. Virginia was born in Gordon County April 15, 1926. Daughter of the late Emezar Haygood Tate and Lula Belle Hall Campbell. She attended Reeves Baptist Church and prior to her retirement was employed by Georgia Textile. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Tom Harris, a sister, Jewel McGaskey and brother, Claude Campbell. She is survived by one son, Dean Harris wife Melba Harris of Calhoun. Two grandsons, Johnny Harris of Chattanooga and Russell Harris of Andersonville, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday September 25th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Joe Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Mike Shivers, Donald Bowman, Jesse Bowman, Johnny Harris, Russell Harris, and Albert Edwards.
