Viola Janet Jones

Mrs. Viola Erwin Jones, age 83 of Calhoun, died Thursday July 20th. 2006 in the Gordon Hospital from an unexpected illness. Mrs. Jones was born in Gordon County daughter of the late Arledge and Betty Russell Erwin and had been a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker, a Life Member of the Bethelhem Baptist Church and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Edward Jones in 1997, Brothers and Sisters. Otis and Alton Erwin, Lois McDougle, Rochelle McDougle, Russell and Tarver Erwin. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Harry and Kathy Jones of Lynchburg, Tennessee and Randall and Cynthia Jones of Calhoun, One Brother: Billy Erwin and his wife Betty of Calhoun and sisters-in-laws: Faye Butler, Frances Jones and Hester Jones. Five Grandchildren; Craig Jones and his wife Karin, Zane Jones and his wife Teresa , Kim Adams and her husband Jeff, Mark Jones and his wife Faith and Billy Jones, Five great-grandchildren; Amy Leatherwood, Eric Jones, Kaycee Leatherwood , Savannah Jones and Allison Jones. Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 22, 2006 from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Waits officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with Rev. Clay Stephens in charge of the graveside services. Pallbearers serving include Larry and Michael Erwin, Terry and Charles McDougle, Phil Meadows and Scotty Kay and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Saturday. Brittany Bell will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday evening July 21st. In addition to flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Chruch Cemetery Fund.
