Sunday, April 26, 2009 Mr. Travis Larry Cooper, age 81 of the Big Springs Community died unexpectedly Saturday, April 25, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Cooper was born in Sand Mt. Alabama on January 14, 1928 son of the late Ernest and Guidea Salmon Cooper. He was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and retired from Cagles Poultry in 1992 and served his Country In the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife Bobbie H. Cooper of Calhoun, two sons; Richard (Rick) Cooper and his wife Ann of Marietta, and Darrel Cooper and his wife Pamela of Cartersville, one brother; Hubert Cooper and his wife Patsy of Calhoun, two sisters; Betty Woodring and her husband Wayne of Adairsville and Dorothy Reed of Tennessee. Four grandchildren; Ashton, Bryan, Scott and Rob Cooper. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday April 28th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy McDearis, Dr. Bert Vaughn and Rev. Jimmy Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Bryan, Rob, Scott and Geary Cooper and Danny and Wayne Wisner and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home frim 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday Evening. IN ADDITION TO FLOWERS MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS MAY BE MADE TO THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
