Monday, March 28, 2011 Trammell D. Bennett, age 69, of Plainville. Died Saturday evening March 26th in Gordon Hospital. Trammell was born January 9, 1942 in Gordon County. Son of the late Charlie Ray Bennett and Alma Moore Bennett. He was a member of Moss Memorial Baptist Church and was employed by Goodyear prior to his retirement. He was a wonderful Dad and good family man, who loved his grandchildren, old cars and the Lord. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Mel, Pat, Billy, Robert, J.M., Herman, Jerry, and Fred Bennett. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Bennett of Plainville. Three daughters; Tamara Bennett of Plainville, Lynn Slaughter and Pam Tanner both of Calhoun. One brother, Wayne Bennett of Calhoun. Two sisters; Jean McClure and Sue Amos both of Calhoun. Four grandchildren; Brittany Slaughter, Erin Tanner, Buddy Phillips, and Allison Tanner. Two great grandchildren; Ja Kaidyn Watkins and Taliyah Watkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday March 29th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Greg Williams and Rev. Ronnie Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Brent Bennett, Brandon Bishop, Dewayne Bennett, Daymon McClure, Joey Henson, Ryan Amos, Bradley Bennett and Mike Bennett. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 8 pm.
