Tony "Slack" Holsomback

Tony “Slack” Holsomback, age 72 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Advent Health Gordon.

Tony was born on August 26, 1949 in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Floyd Talmadge Holsomback and Frankie Nell Rooney Holsomback. In addition to his parents, Tony was also preceded in death by: one brother, Terry David Holsomback; one sister, Gail Holsomback Ledford; and one sister-in-law, Lynn Rooney. Tony was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the Calhoun Elk’s Lodge #1883 and was currently serving as Adjutant of the American Legion Post 47. He loved to golf and enjoyed playing in the Poker Tournament.

Tony is survived by: two sons, Nicklaus “Nick” Holsomback and Adam Holsomback; two brothers, Ronnie Rooney and Steve Holsonback and his wife Brenda; and his two grandpups, Apollo and Daisy.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Corey Forsyth officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers serving are: Bobby Walraven, Larry Thomason, Ronnie Reeves, Joel Ostuw, Charlie Kirby, and Bruce Henderson.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Tony’s golf buddies, members of the American Legion, and members of Barfly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
