Tony Patterson, age 51 of the Ryo Community died Wednesday evening June 29 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Pickens County.
Tony was born in Gordon County, October 23, 1959, a son of the late Jimmy Patterson and Barbara Ponder Patterson. He was a self employed auto mechanic and had lived in the Ryo Community for many years. He was a founding member of the Fairmount American Legion Post 305, Riders. Tony was a loving father and grandfather "Paw Paw".
Tony is survived by two sons, Dustin Patterson and his wife Wendy; Cody Patterson and his wife Whitney; mother of his children, Angela Patterson Kirby; two grandchildren, Will Patterson and Julia Patterson all of Fairmount.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 2 at the Ryo Baptist Church with the Reverend Denver Bowling officiating; burial will be in the church cemetery. Sally Jones will be in charge of music. Active pallbearers are Cody and Dustin Patterson, Mylon Holbert, Eddie Champion, Danny Childers, Stanley Boyd, Chuck Owens, and Chris Burger they are asked to meet at the Patterson home at 12 noon Saturday. Honorary pallbearers are the Fairmount American Legion Riders, Eddie Griffin, Jerrell Thomas, and Wayne Patterson.
The body of Mr. Patterson will be taken to his home, 14020 Highway 53, West, Friday afternoon where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 10:00 PM. It is requested that flowers be delivered to the Patterson home or to Ryo church after 12 noon Saturday.
