Mr. Tommy Lee Holt Sr. age 64 of Sugar Valley, died Tuesday morning at his residence following a brief illness.
Tommy was born in Gordon County on Nov. 13, 1945 son of the late Sephus and Wilda Hall Holt. He was retired from the Textile business where he was a sewing machine mechanic. Tommy was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving two tours, received two purple hearts and retired with over thirty years service in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sgt. and was a member of the V.F.W. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Quinn Holt in 2003 and two brothers; Donald and Forrest Holt.
Survivors include three sons; Tommy Lee Holt Jr. of Sugar Valley, Eric Brown of Rome and James L. Brown of Sugar Valley, a daughter; Lynette Brown of Calhoun , one brother; Buck Holt of Cleveland, Ga. and sisters; Ivadene Muse of Resaca and Martha Bishop of Plainville and Judy Holt. Three grandchildren; Garrett and Jordan Brown and Cage Ralston.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday March 12th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. on Friday.
