Tommie Juanita Hobgood, age 90, of Calhoun. Died Friday afternoon July 22nd in Redmond Regional Hospital following a sudden illness.
"Hoppy" as she was known was born May 18, 1921 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Penny and Vernie Bryant Hobgood. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church and was employed by Lockheed Aircraft prior to her retirement. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Winnell Dodd, a brother, Winfred Hobgood and a special nephew, Rodolfo Ruiz.
Survivors include her sister, Louise Cowart of Plainville. One brother, Max Hobgood of Calhoun. As well as a number of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday July 24th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Dr. John Allen officiating. Music will be arranged by Rev. Marvin Jackson. Burial will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include, Phil Fetzer, Stan Fetzer, Larry Brown, Luther Jones, Michael Langston, Nathan Bryant, and Wyman Autry.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9pm.
