Tom Edgar Kirby

Tom E. Kirby, age 57 of the Hall Memorial  Community died Sunday, July 2 in Advent Health- Redmond of Rome following a extended illness.

Tom was born, August 3, 1965 in Gordon County, son of Nancy Redwine Kirby and the late Ray Kirby. Also, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Kirby.

Tom was a former employee of Mohawk having worked in chemical aspects of manufacturing. He was a former Georgia National Guardsman with service the local Calhoun unit. He was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee football, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church near Sugar Valley.

Tom is survived by one son, Sean Austin Kirby and mother, Nancy Redwine Kirby, both of Resaca; one brother Tim Kirby and his wife Gail of Sugar Valley; one granddaughter, Raelyn Redwine; nieces and nephews, Zack, Sara, Lara, Jon, Nick, and Weston, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 6 at the Calvary Baptist Church near Sugar Valley, with the Reverends Donnie Mattila, Randy Muse, and Larry Hayes officiating. Pallbearers are Charlie Lumpkin, Chris Haggard, Weston Brown, Michael Brown, Phil Lewis, Albert Kiser, Tyler McClure, and Nick Broyles. They are asked to meet at the church at 2:45 PM Thursday. Burial will be in the Hall Memorial Cemetery next to his daughter Amber.

Tom’s body will lie in state at Calvary Baptist Church after 3:30 PM Wednesday until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM, Thursday.
