Thomas Howard Luttrell, age 87 of the Plainville community, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Thomas was born on May 14, 1929 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late William Clayton Luttrell and Gladys Estelle Johnson. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp from 1947-1950 during World War II and later served as a baliff for the Gordon County’s Sheriffs office and was an avid employee for World Carpet in the Textile industry for many years. He was a member of the Resaca Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Lemming Luttrell of Plainville; a son, Mike Luttrell and his wife Lupe of Plainville; daughter, Melissa VanHorn and her husband Wesley of Calhoun; two sisters, Dorothy DeBoard of Tennessee and Betty Bearden of Summerville; two grandchildren Natoshia Massingill and her husband Chris and Candice Burkhalter and her husband Chris, two great-grandchildren Cage and Corban Burkhalter.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Mike Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow at Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are as follows Wesley VanHorn, Tony Flowers, Larry Stamey, Jose Loyola, Thomas Morales and Danny Bennett.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6th from 1 PM until the funeral hour of 3 PM
