Terry Lynn Carnes

Terry Lynn Carnes, age 58 of Rome, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Terry was born on November 13, 1954 in Floyd County. He was the son of the late William B. “Buster” Carnes and Charlotte Anne Smith Carnes. Terry was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Hillshire Brands of Rome. He was an avid musician, photographer and gardener. He was also a wonderful father and loving grandfather. Survivors include: his wife, Anita Sims Carnes, whom he was married to on February 22, 1975; two sons, Christopher Carnes and his wife Trang, and Matthew Carnes and his wife Susan. Father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Jessie Sims all of Rome; two brothers, Michael Carnes and his wife Donna of Sugar Valley, Bruce Carnes and his wife Nancy of Plainville; sister-in-law, Terri Korson and her husband Danny of Rome; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carnes, Lucas Carnes and Emmaline Carnes also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 3rd at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Cordell officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include: Tim Yancey, Jeremy Hilliard, Parks Chastain, Daniel Dawson, Ben Miller and Mike Carnes. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2nd from 5:00 until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
