Mr. Terry Wayne Brooks, 68 of Sonoraville, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at his home, after several months of declining health. Terry was an avid sports fan, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. Born in Knoxville, TN, he moved to GA in 1971. A member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun, he is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Quincy and Leva Haynes Brooks, and older brothers William Henry, Albert Quincy, Robert Tarvin, and Edwin Glenn. He is also preceded by nieces Molly Brooks Gallman, Rebecca Brooks and Elizabeth Anne Brooks and nephews Robby Brooks and John Brooks.
Survivors include his wife of almost 44 years, Mary Ann Wright Brooks; son Curtis Wright Brooks and wife, Rebecca Fite Brooks; daughter, Robbin Haynes Brooks; and brother, Norman Bruce Brooks and his wife, Martha Cousins Brooks, and their son Bruce Norman Brooks. He also is survived by his granddaughter Ava Jane, sisters in law Winona Early Brooks and Aline Wright Dyer and numerous neices and nephews.
The family extends a very special thank you to Homestead Hospice, Gordon Home Care, local EMT's, and Fire and Rescue for the care and assistance they gave Terry.
Memorial service will be conducted on Sunday February 28, 2016 at 4:30 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 Sunday February 28, 2016.
