Tammy Newman

Tammy Kay Newman, age 39, formerly of Calhoun died Wednesday June 27th at her residence in Austin, Texas. Tammy was born October 10, 1972 in West Point, Mississippi, daughter of James L. Huffman and Billie Horton. She received her GED at Dalton State College and a Certified Nursing Assistant Degree from Health Care Career Center in Round Rock, Texas. Tammy was a member of Rock Bridge Church in Dalton and she and her family attended Shoreline Church in Austin. She was a lover of nature and most important she loved her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Newman. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Brittany Hardin and her husband Billy, Michael Newman, Allison Brown and Kayla Newman, and granddaughter, Crimson Hardin. Other survivors include, her mother, Billie Horton Slade, her father, James L. Huffman, a sister, Jamie Lynn Priest. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 5th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Sister Sheila Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon at the funeral home from 12:30 until the funeral hour.
