Mrs. Sylvia McCutchen Turner, age 85 of 660 Jolly Rd. N.W., Calhoun, died Wednesday April 18th. following an extended illness.
Mrs. Turner was born in Floyd County on August 2nd. 1921 daughter of the late Cressie and Lena Stroud McCutchen and had been a resident of Calhoun since 1989. She was a member of the Adairsville United Methodist Church, the Sans Soucci Club of Adairsville and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Guy Berry Turner in 1997.
Survivors include one niece Sydney Tankersley Eldridge and her husband Dave of Calhoun, six great-nieces and nephews; Cindy Francis of Cary, North Carolina, Sally Tankersley of Calhoun, Duke Tankersley of Calhoun, Laura Matika of Drexel Hills, PA., Nicole Karnash of Harrisburg, PA., and Richard N. Franz Jr. of Harrisburg, PA. Several great-great-nieces and nephews along with Special Caregivers at Regal Residence; Betty Turner Samples, Inez Owens, Shirley Richards and Jerlean Goble.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday April 21st.from the chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Chaplin Dan Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday morning preceeding the funeral services.
