Susan Irene Talley Davis

Susan Irene Talley Davis, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Erlanger Health System. Susan was born on May 23, 1941 in Gordon County, GA to the late C.L. Silvers and Bessie Silvers Abercrombie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Davis; two sons, Grover Lewis and Charles “Chuck” Talley, Jr.; and two brothers, Ford Silvers and Lawrence Silvers. Susan is survived by two daughters, Kathie Lewis Hartley and Buddy Gray of Calhoun and Cindy Talley of LaGrange; two sons, Jeff Talley of LaGrange and Scott Talley of Hogansville; seven sisters, Elizabeth Tatum and her husband Jordan of Ranger, Shelba Marker of Ranger, Stella Tatum and her husband Ed of Adairsville, Doris Blaylock and her husband Buford of Calhoun, Charlotte Vaughan and her husband Bert of Calhoun, Shelia Callaway and her husband R.L. of Calhoun and Deborah Tomlinson and Roger Davis of Calhoun; sisters-in-law, Diane Silvers and Sandy Silvers. Nine grandchildren, Caleb Hartley, Christie Pedigro, Shannon Snyder, Josh Talley, Jade Talley, Jana Talley, Danielle Daniels, Carson Talley and Emma Talley; eight great-grandchildren; Special people in her life are caretakers, Jade Talley and Jacob Bulls; great-grandson, Nathan Nazworth; and friend, Jennifer Talley. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 5th at 2PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Silvers officiating. Music will be conducted by Nina Payne. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ranger with Jacob Bulls, Caleb Walker, R.L. Callaway, Bert Vaughan, Roger Davis and Derrick Silvers serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral on Friday from 10 AM until the funeral hour at 2 PM.
