Sue Lewis West

Sue Lewis West, age 77 of Moultrie and formerly of Calhoun died Friday, March 28 in the Agape Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Moultrie. Sue was born, June 13, 1936 in Calhoun, daughter of the late John A. Lewis Sr., and Gladys Owens Lewis. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max West, a son, Gregory West, and two brothers, Frank O. Lewis and John A. Lewis, Jr. She was a 1954 graduate of Calhoun High School and was a member of the Yellow Jacket Marching Band. She retired after many years of service with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Calhoun. Sue is survived by two sons, Lyle N. West and his wife, Geena of Moultrie, and Dr. Shawn C. West and his wife Danielle of Wexford, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Kristen West Martin and her husband Matthew, Jennifer West Sparks and her husband Stephen, Mary Kathryn West, Ashley Veasey Underwood and her husband Andrew, Amber Veasey Walley, Isabella Kate West, Sadie Jane West, and Kasey West; seven great grandchildren, Tyler Martin, Andrew Martin, Deacon Underwood, Sadie Underwood, Max Walley, Damien West, and Kaden West; one brother, Ed Lewis and his wife, Jean of Calhoun; cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 31 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery.
