Mrs. Sue Causby Brackett, age 83 of the Pine Chapel Community, died Saturday, May 28 in Floyd Medical Center following a brief illness.
Sue was born, July 22, 1932 in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Fairell C. Causby, Sr. and Bertie Greeson Causby. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, O.S. “Junior” Brackett on July 20, 2012 and a brother, F.C. “Sonny” Causby on April 19, 2016; one sister, Ozelle Jordan, one niece, Denna Ann Jordan, and an infant niece, Lynn Jordan. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was a member of the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church.
Sue is survived by one sister, Robbie Causby of the Pine Chapel Community and one brother, Gary Causby and his wife Sharon of Centre, Alabama; nieces and nephews, Kathi Causby, Stephen Causby, Cammy Causby, Christy Millholland, and Callie Lockard; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday June 1st at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Jonathan Moss and Reverend Kenny Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Pine Chapel Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Phillips in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 31 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jerry Quinn, Seth Causby, Stephen Causby II, Johnny Frix, Tim Allen, Ernest “Cotton” Gentry, Chris Lockard, and Leon Millholland. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Chapel Cemetery Fund in care of Grover Causby at 131 Fairway Drive, Dalton, Georgia, 30721-8659.
