MR. STEVEN DUANE RIGSBEE, AGE 56 OF 209 VICTORY DRIVE, CALHOUN, DIED TUESDAY JULY 4TH. AT HIS RESIDENCE FOLLOWING SEVERAL WEEKS OF DECLINING HEALTH. STEVEN WAS BORN IN SHELBYVILLE INDIANA ON NOVEMBER 24TH. 1949 SON OF THE LATE WILLIAM EMERSON RIGSBEE AND NORMA JEAN SHOCKENCY RIGSBEE WHO SURVIVES HIM. HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF CALHOUN SINCE 1997 AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE CALHOUN SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH. STEVEN WAS AN ACCOUNTANT RECEIVING HIS BA DEGREE FROM PERDUE UNIVERSITY AND HIS MA DEGREE FROM INDIANA UNIVERSITY. AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH HE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE REDMOND REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER IN ROME AS A RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN. STEVEN WAS AN AVID GOLFER AND WAS A RETIRED MAJOR IN THE U.S. AIR FORCE WHERE HE WAS A NAVIGATOR. SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE DELMA M. RIGSBEE OF CALHOUN, TWO DAUGHTERS; ELIZABETH ANN RIGSBEE OF LOMA LINDA, CALIFORNIA AND KATHRYN JEAN RIGSBEE OF CHATTANOOGA, TN. HIS MOTHER; NORMA JEAN RIGSBEE OF GREENWOOD , INDIANA, THREE SISTERS; JANE TINGLE OF JOHNSON CITY, TN., EMILY WILSON AND LAURA GIRARD BOTH OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, ONE BROTHER; BRUCE RIGSBEE OF DALLAS, TEXAS. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED AT 4:00 P.M. THURSDAY JULY 6TH. FROM THE CALHOUN SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH WITH DR. PAUL HOOVER OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL BE IN THE ARLINGTON EASTHILL CEMETERY IN ARLINGTON, INDIANA. PALLBEARERS INCLUDE GREG MILLER, DAVE GAL, BRUCE RIGSBEE, ERIC SCHNELL, CHRIS CORBET, BARRY BENTON AND LONNIE LITCHFIELD AND THEY ARE ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH AT 2:45 P.M. THURSDAY THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE THOMAS FUNERAL HOME FROM 6:00 P.M. UNTIL 8:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY JULY 5TH. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS THE FAMILY REQUESTS CONTRIBUTIONS BE MADE TO THE “WORTHY STUDENT FUND AT COBLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL” ,CALHOUN, GA. THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAS CHARGE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR MR. STEVEN DUANE RIGSBEE.
