Shirley Elizabeth Darlene Burton, age 75 of Fairmount, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Murray Medical Center following several years of declining health. Shirley was born on May 1, 1937 in Gilmer County. Daughter of the late Albert Arnold Lambert and Dessie M. Trammell Lambert. She was a member of the Fairview Church of God in Oakman and was employed by Mohawk Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: brothers and sisters; Nora Leigh Duvall and her husband Gordon Lee Duvall, Albert A. Lambert, Jr. and James V. Lambert and his wife Wylene. Two nephews; Albert Lamar Lambert and Michael Duvall. One brother-in-law, Dolph Fuller, Jr. Survivors include; One daughter, Darlene Patterson of Cleveland,Tn. Shirley’s former husband and loving caregiver, Tom Burton. One brother, Jerry D. “Butch” Lambert and his wife Janie of Fairmount. One sister, Dorothy L. Fuller of Fairmount. One granddaughter, Chelsea Patterson of Cleveland, TN. Nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00pm Saturday June 30th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Pastor Daron Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Waylon Lambert, Dustin Lambert, Corey Lambert, Terry Goble, Jeff Thacker and Billy Champion. The family will receive friends from 1 – 4pm on June 30th prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
