Shirley Ann Moore Rudisill, age 72 of Rome and formerly of Gordon County died Thursday, November 20 at her residence.
Shirley was born, February 6, 1943 in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Edgar T. Moore, Sr. and Cullie Blankenship Moore, She was an alumna of Calhoun High School, Class of 1961 and lived her entire adult life in Rome. She was employed in the health care field having worked at Norton’s Women’s Clinic, Harbin Clinic and Floyd Medical Center.
She was a charter member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of various committees and ministries. She was ordained as an elder in 2009 at Silver Creek Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David Neal Rudisill; her brothers, Edgar T. Moore, Jr., Lex V. Moore, Sharon P. (Pat) Moore, Douglas Michael Moore, and a nephew, Rex V. Moore.
She is survived by her son, Jones Solomon Rudisill III, and a grandson, Solomon David Rudisill of Cartersville, a sister, Carol Moore Cagle and her husband Phillip, a brother, J.W. Moore and his wife Marguerite and a sister in law, Annie Ruth Moore.
A private burial will take place with the Reverend Charles Looney officiating.
A memorial service will be held, Monday, November 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorials may be sent to the Covenant Presbyterian Church 1645 Cartersville Highway SE, Rome, Ga. 30161.
