Sergeant First Class Henry F. “Hank” Wyatt, U.S. Army Retired, age 88 of Plainville, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at his residence.
Hank was born on September 19, 1925 in Gordon County to the late John Stanton Wyatt and Martha Cherry. He was a member South Calhoun Baptist Church and prior to retirement worked for the United States Postal Service. He served in the United States Army for over twenty years earning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and was a WWII Veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Pearl Wyatt; four brothers, Claude, Bill, Howard and Ralph Wyatt; and sister, Pauline Tatum.
He is survived by two sons, Terry Wyatt, and Bradley Lynn Wyatt and his wife Diane all of Calhoun; one daughter, Penny Jordan and her husband Bo of Plainville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 27th at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Ivie and Col. Jim Franklin. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Terry Wyatt, II, Stanton Wyatt, Chris Wyatt, Nathan Wyatt, Brian Golden, Joe Picon, Trey Wyatt and Eddie LaValle.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26th from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
