SFC Retired Charles Davis Hall

SFC Charles Davis Hall, age 74 of Calhoun Passed away at his residence Thursday September 2nd.

Charles was born November 15, 1946, in Gordon County son of the late Eugene Davis Hall and Willie Mae Wyatt Hall. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country honorable from 1964 – 1984 in both Vietnam and Korea. He was a proud recipient of the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantry Badge as well as many other commendations and awards. Charles enjoyed collecting coins from all over the world and spending time with his family. After his retirement he return to Calhoun where he lived until his death.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Onedith Hasty, Rachel Hall and Loretta Hall; one brother, Raford Hall; mother-in-law, Ruby Swafford; and son in law, Randall Black.

He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Marie Hall; three daughters, Ann Black of Calhoun, Ruby Lee and her husband Troy of Chatsworth and Jessica Hall of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Nora Harmon of Chatsworth, George Davis Barnes of Calhoun, and Savannha Frantzen and her husband Trysten of Calhoun; four great-grandchildren, Hayley Rhodes of Chatsworth, Xander Frantzen of Calhoun, Aidan Frantzen of Calhoun, and Marion Charles Harmon of Chatsworth; one sister, Esther Barfield and her husband Sonny of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-laws, Micheal Hasty of Calhoun, Jimmy and Shirley Swafford, Louise and Jack Grant; stepchildren, Manny and Monica Lee; step great-grandchildren, Connor and Camden Lee. Several Aunts, nieces, nepherws and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday September 7th at 11am from the Chaple of Thomas Funeral Home with Charles Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest with Military Honors afforded by the Dalton American Legion.The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 8pm. Pallbearers are Chad Barnes, Justin Stone, Johnny Brown, Troy Lee, Charles Lee, and Stephen Holt. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM Tuesday.
