Garland Scott Shook passed away on April 29, 2024 at the age of 65. He was born March 5, 1959 in High Point, North Carolina, the son of the late Bob Shook and Nancy Bright Shook.
Scott graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Economics. For over 38 years as a UPS driver, Scott served the Dalton and Calhoun communities. He was a dedicated member of Calhoun First Baptist Church, Calhoun, Georgia.
Survivors include his sisters and brother: Sue (Lonnie) Wilson, Sara (Darol) Billings, and Sandy (Lori) Shook. Scott is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews, as well as 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Calhoun First Baptist Church, 411 College Street, Calhoun, Georgia, with Dr. John Barber and Rev. Steve Waters officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the youth mission fund of Calhoun First Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff and residents of The Fountains in Calhoun, the Homespun Hospice team, and the caregivers and staff of Georgia Care at Home.
