Sarah Frances Jackson, age 100, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Thursday October 1, 2020 at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Frances was born June 8, 1920 in Pine Log, Georgia, daughter of the late William Louallen Henson and Ethel May Maxwell Henson. In addition to her parents Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Withers “Jack” Jackson in 2007, three brothers, Verner, Everett, and William Henson, one sister, Ethel Henson, and one granddaughter, Tracey Amanda Jackson. During her lifetime she worked for Pate’s and Lays 5 & 10, and she and her husband owned Jackson’s Women’s Apparel until retirement. She was a longtime member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Sara (Steve) Yancey and Mary (Donald) Darnell both of Calhoun and one son, William “Billy” (Carole) Jackson of Centre, Alabama. Seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survives.
Due to Covid concerns a private service for the family only will be conducted from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 7th with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Music will be provided by Sherry Chapman. Friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside services at 2:45pm in Chandler Cemetery. Mask and social distancing are required.
Pallbearers serving will be grandsons and grandsons-in-laws.
