Sarah Lassiter Dodson

Sarah Lassiter Dodson, age 88 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on November 28, 2022 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living.

Sarah was born on December 18, 1933 in Wilmington, NC, daughter of the late Leroy Irving and Annie Elizabeth Lassiter. In addition to her parents, Sarah was also preceded in death by: her husband, Winfred Gray Dodson; and one brother, Bill Lassiter. She was a member of Emory Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and deacon. She also played bells and sang in the church choir. Prior to retirement, Sarah worked as the office manager for Montreal Internal Medicine.

Sarah is survived by: one son, George Dodson and his wife Hope of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Anne Judah and her husband Tony of Fairmount, GA; four grandchildren, David Judah and his partner Katie Van Horn, Sarah Pedulla and her husband David, Rachel Perry and her husband Nick, and Julie Anne Dodson; three great-grandchildren, Soren, Josiah and Gideon Pedulla; and one sister, Anne Sessoms.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 3:30 PM until 4:30 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 4:30 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Butler officiating.

A private entombment will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Floral Hills Memory Garden in Atlanta, GA.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Sarah may be made to the Edna Owens Breast Center at 1035 Red Bud Road NE, Calhoun, GA 30701.
