Sarah Brown

Wednesday, March 14, 2007 Mrs. Sarah Payne Brown age 83 of Marietta, Ga. died suddenly Tuesday March 13th. at her residence. Mrs. Brown was born in Gordon County on August 17, 1923 daughter of the late Jesse Harris Payne and Winnie Mae Burchett Payne and had spent the earlier part of her life here and had resided in Marietta for over 50 years. She was a member of the New Echota United Methodist Church and was formerly employed by the Ga. National Guard at Dobbins Air Force Base. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Max Brown in 1998. Survivors include a sister Marguerite Causby and her husband F.C. of Calhoun, a niece; Kathi Phipps and her husband Bryan of Calhoun , a nephew; Stephen Causby and his wife Chrissie of Calhoun, a brother-in-law; Ralph Brown of Granbury, Texas. Several nieces, nephews. Great-nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 17th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include John, Bill and Jed Allgood, Harold Brown, Mike Schumer and Brian Phipps and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Saturday.
