Sandra Kay Nation, age 72 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her residence.
Sandra was born on March 13, 1947 in Calhoun to the late Claude Rex Smith and Martha Marie Wofford Smith. She was a member of Resaca Assembly of God and was retired from Mannington Mills. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ted Nation, son David Nation, and a grandson, Jonathan Nation.
She is survived by a sister, Susan Diane Smith; two special nephews that she loved as her own, Derrick and Casey Watson. Special nieces, Stephanie Weaver, Jennifer Tinsley, Emilee, Aalysa, Lana, Whitney Watson. Also, she is survived by four special women that she considered to be sisters, Diane Shaw, Sandie Chastain, Cheryl Waters, and Theresia Bright. Many special relatives of the Nation and Wofford family survive, as well as special friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Steven Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are as follows: Isaac Leatherwood, Derrick Watson, David Bright, Keith Cochran, and Clifton Phillips. Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
