Samuel “Sammy” Moore, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his residence.
Samuel was born on August 5, 1941 in Copperhill, TN to the late Rex Moore and Georgia Troceio. He was retired from Quality Finishers as a boiler operator. Sammy served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Org and Nancy Forster; grandson, John Harp; nephew, Anthony Moore; and brother, Bobby Moore. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Joan Moore; three daughters, Patti Gail Allmond and her husband Tim of Metter, Billie Louise Reisner and her husband Terry of Calhoun, Jeana Renee Holman and her husband Richard of Calhoun; two brothers, Archie Moore of Nevada, and Joe and Gail Moore of Cornelia; grandchildren, Travis and Ashley Wells of Statesboro, Zac and Amanda Moore of Santa Claus, Kaleb and Bridgett Harp of Cartersville, Cayman Moore of Calhoun, Kenidy Holman of Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Hunter Wells, Harper Moore, Emi Wells, River Moore and Lorelei Harp. Sammy is also survived by his best friend, Harold Bryan of Kansas. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 28th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Kaleb Harp and Zac Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Travis Wells, Zac Moore, Kaleb Harp, Cayman Moore, Timothy Allmond, Richard Holman, Terry Reisner, and Michael Chastain. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Moore and Danny Kilgore.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
